Free Lettuce Pincushion Crochet Pattern




Materials:
1 oz. Red Heart Super Saver worsted weight yarn in Spring Green
Size H crochet hook
Small amount fiberfill stuffing

Size: 4" in diameter

Leaves:
Rnd 1: Ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join w sl st in top of beg ch 3 (12 dc).

Rnd 2: * Ch 3, sk 1 dc, sl st in next dc, rep from * around, joining w sl st in beg sl st (6 ch 3 sps).

Rnd 3: * (Sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc) in ch 3 sp, sl st in next sl st, rep from * around, joining w sl st in beg sl st, fo (6 petals).

Rnd 4: Join yarn w sl st around any sl st post between petals of Rnd 3 (joining sl st will show on front of work), * ch 4, sl st around post between next 2 petals in same manner, rep from * around, join w sl st in same sp as beg sl st (6 ch 4 sps).

Rnd 5: * (Sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc) in ch 4 sp, sl st in next sl st, rep from * around, join w sl st in same sp as beg sl st, fo (6 petals).

Rnd 6: Join yarn w sl st around any sl st post between petals of Rnd 5 (joining sl st will show on front of work), ch 6, sl st in same manner around next sl st post of Rnd 5, rep from * around, join w sl st in same sp as beg sl st (6 ch 6 sps).

Rnd 7: * (Sc, hdc, 4 dc, hdc, sc) in ch 6 sp, sl st in next sl st, rep from * around, join w sl st  in 1st sl st, fo (6 petals).

Center:
Rnd 1: Start w magic ring, 6 sc in ring, do not join, mark last st w st marker (6 sc).

Rnd 2: * Sc in 1st sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * around, do not join, mark last st w st marker, pull magic ring closed (9 sc).

Rnd 3: * Sc in 1st sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * around, sc in last sc, do not join, mark last st w st marker (13 sc).

Rnd 4: * Sc in 1st sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * around, sc in last sc, do not join, mark last st w st marker (19 sc).

Rnd 5: Sc in each sc around, do not join, mark last st w st marker (19 sc).

Rnd 6: Sc in each sc around, join w sl st in first sc, fasten off, leaving an 18" length of yarn for sewing.

Weave in all ends except the long 18" end.

Stuff center of lettuce firmly and sew to Rnd 1 of leaves. Weave in last end.

  1. Thanks for the easy to follow instructions, I just finished my lettuce, it looks good enough to eat! I plan on fastening it to an elastic wrist band so, no more pins in the mouth! I just read about someone who accidentally inhaled a pin, not good! (she survived after a couple of surgeries)
